Mosetlha Bush Camp is family owned and run, a rustic and intimate, unfenced bush camp nestling at the very heart of the magnificent Madikwe Game Reserve. The malaria free Madikwe is situated in North West Province, just a 3½ hours drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria, 1½ hours from Sun City and an easy half hour’s drive from Gaborone. Mosetlha was started in the early 1990s as a rustic camp with basic facilities, a place where rangers-in-training and other wilderness enthusiasts came to learn about wildlife conservation. An exclusive and unique wilderness experience is offered to a maximum of 16 people in nine double cabins. The wildlife is extensive and impressive.

The African, or Cape, buffalo is a member of the so-called “Big Five” group of animals, with the elephant, rhino, lion and leopard, popular trophies for hunters. There are approximately 900,000 Cape buffalo across sub-Saharan and South Africa.

The Drakensberg is one of the major mountain ranges of southern Africa with dramatic scenery. The park includes beautiful rivers, wetlands, indigenous forests, grasslands, valleys and cliffs. The Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park has an average altitude of 3000m, the highest range south of Kilimanjaro – and spans 150kms over 243 000 ha of land. One of the greatest treasures is set of 20 000 individual rock paintings at 500 different cave and overhang sites between Royal Natal National Park and Bushman’s Neck.
