Mount Rainier National Park, with 236,381 un-spoiled acres, was established in 1899, 17 years before the National Park Service was formed, making it one of the oldest in the nation. Ascending to 14,410 feet above sea level, Mount Rainier stands as an icon in the Washington landscape. An active volcano, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous U.S.A., spawning six major rivers. It is the most prominent peak in the Cascade Range. Mount Rainier last erupted approximately 150 years ago. Coniferous trees dominate and the lower slopes have dense forests of giant Douglas firs, western red cedars, and mountain hemlocks. During the warm months the alpine meadows are covered with wildflowers that bloom progressively higher up the slopes as the summer passes. The park’s wildlife is abundant and varied and includes deer, Roosevelt elk, bears and mountain goats and there are also more than 140 bird species. One of the park’s most scenic drives runs from the Nisqually entrance to Paradise. This 80 mile drive winds through river valleys, lowland forests and glaciated peaks and offers some magnificent views. Nearly two million visitors a year come to Mount Rainier National Park for hiking, moutain climbing, backpacking, and more.

New conceps, crossovers, sports car were everywhere at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show – many of them revealed for the first time in North America and some for the first time in the world. Although the concepts at the show represented a glimpse into the future of the automotive industry, more-production-ready vehicles gave the public a chance to see what\’s soon headed to their dealers’ showrooms. Automakers such as Audi, BMW, General Motors, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar Land Rover, Jeep, Lexus, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and Volvo all had something new on display. One of the world’s largest auto shows will return again in 2018 from November 30 – December 9 at the LA Convention Center.

Joshua Tree National Park is located in southeastern California. Declared a U.S. National Park in 1994 when the U.S. Congress passed the California Desert Protection Act. The park encompasses nearly 800,000 acres of the Mojave and Colorado Deserts, conserving two separate desert ecosystems at different altitudes. The name of the park is derived from the distinctive Joshua Tree, a tall-growing variety of the yucca genus that grows prevalently within its boundaries. In the higher Mojave portion of the national park, a forest of the strange Joshua Trees and a number of unique rock formations called Inselbergs are protected. In the lower Colorado portion, the Pinto Basin exhibits the typical plants of this hotter Sonoran Desert.

Zion National Park covers an area of 229 square miles and offers a spectacular landscape of sandstone cliffs, deep canyons and expansive plateaus. Zion National Park is a vast wilderness of rock formations that includes the world’s largest arch – Kolob Arch – with a span of 310 feet (94.5 m). Zion Park is a source of amusement and enjoyment for more than 2 million people visiting it each year. Hiking is a very popular activity when it comes to visiting Zion National Park in the summer time. Hikers can hike to Big Springs. Zion National Park is home to approximately 386 different types of wildlife, including 8 types of fish, 32 amphibians and reptiles, 75 mammals and 271 birds. It is home to three ecosystems and has over 900 different species of plant-life. Many are indigenous to the valleys and canyons and can only be seen here.

The Carnival in Rio is definitely the biggest and most famous, not just in Brazil but in the whole world. It is also the most visited as well. From March 1st through March 4th the people of the “marvellous city” have celebrated Rio Carnival 2014. The Carnival competition sees the city’s top samba groups, or schools, parade in the Sambadrome, each delivering an over-the-top, hour-long display aimed at capturing the annual title.

World War Two in Europe began on 3rd September 1939, when the Prime Minister of Britain, Neville Chamberlain, declared war on Germany. The War ended in the Summer of 1945. World War II was the most destructive conflict in history. It cost more money, damaged more property, killed more people, and caused more far-reaching changes than any other war in history. Between 1939 and 1945, the Allies dropped 3.4 million tons of bombs, which averaged to 27,700 tons per month. It is estimated that 50 million people lost their lives during World War 2.

The Batu Caves are located thirteen kilometers north of the capital city Kuala Lumpur. Caves are one of the most important Hindu religious sites outside of India. Every year hundreds of thousands of Hindu devotees come to climb the grueling 272 steps up to the caverns. The main Batu Cave is known as the Temple Cave or Cathedral Cave. The cave serves as a Hindu Temple devoted to Lord Muragan whose 42 meter high gold statue stands guard outside.

Lighthouses came into existence because ships could not see the rocks and other dangers in the water. A lighthouse is a building or other type of construction designed to emit light from a system of lamps and lenses or, in older times, from a fire and used as an aid to navigation. The most widely used materials are masonry, brick, concrete and steel. The first known lighthouse, the Pharos of Alexandria, Egypt, was completed about 280 B.C. It stood more than 350 feet tall until an earthquake destroyed it in the 1300s.
