Although Carnival is celebrated in towns and villages throughout Brazil and other Catholic countries, Rio de Janeiro has long been regarded as the Carnival capital of the world. The Vila Isabel opened the second day evening with a tribute to Miguel Arraes, former governor of Pernambuco. It is very old school with lots of history and tradition. It is currently ranked the third best among all Rio samba schools.

The Opera House is an attraction not to be missed upon visiting the city of Manaus. This gorgeous theater was built at the height of the rubber boom, using European designers, decorators, even raw materials. Construction began in 1884, under the supervision of Italian architect Celestial Sacardim. No expense was spared: roofing came from Alsace, furniture from Paris, marble from Italy, and steel from England. On the outside of the building, the dome was covered with 36,000 decorated ceramic tiles painted in the colors of the Brazilian national flag. The inside was decorated by Italian painter Domenico de Angelis.

Zu Lai is an amazing chinese budhist temple. It is located about 45 minutes from Sao Paulo. The Zu Lai temple is a Mahayana Buddhist monastery. It provides a place for visitors to enjoy nature and get in touch with their spirituality. There a perfect little Buddha sculptures if you walk down the steps from the temple showing the Buddha doing different daily activities and growing older.

The Carnival in Rio is definitely the biggest and most famous, not just in Brazil but in the whole world. It is also the most visited as well. From March 1st through March 4th the people of the “marvellous city” have celebrated Rio Carnival 2014. The Carnival competition sees the city’s top samba groups, or schools, parade in the Sambadrome, each delivering an over-the-top, hour-long display aimed at capturing the annual title.

James Blunt is a former British Army officer and musician whose debut album, Back To Bedlam, and single releases, especially number one hit You’re Beautiful, brought him to fame in 2005. He bought his first guitar at the price of 100 pound sterling when he turned 14. James Blunt performed live at Credicard Hall in Sao Paulo. He opened his concert with “So Far Gone”.

Christ Redeemer, statue of Jesus stands 39,5 meters (130 ft) tall, including its 9.5 metres (31 ft) pedestal atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro. it located in the Tijuca Forest National Park. It weighs 635 tonnes. It was designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa and created by French sculptor Paul Landowski in 1931. Construction took nine years and cost the equivalent of US$250,000 ($3,068,097 in 2011). Statue belongs to a modern list of New Seven Wonders of the World.
