Walt Disney first had the idea for a park based on the movies more than 40 years ago, but it wasn’t until May 1989 that the Walt Disney Company unveiled the Disney-MGM Studios, where guests of Walt Disney World could witness the inner workings of living, breathing movie and television production facilities. Hollywood Studios is often described as a half-day park because of its size and show-based attractions, but the Studios hold three of the most popular rides at Walt Disney World.
