Formally known as the House-Monument of the Bulgarian Communist Party, the monument at Buzludzha is like something out of a 1950s sci-fi movie. The saucer-shaped monument rises to a height of 107m, and was designed by the architect Georgi Stoilov. More than 60 Bulgarian artists collaborated on the design of murals for the site, and thousands of ‘volunteers’ were involved in the construction process, which took almost seven years to complete. In the 15 meter-high main hall of the memorial a 500 sq.m. fresco present portraits of Marx, Engels, Lenin and the Bulgarian communist leader Todor Zhivkov. The dome of the structure was covered with thirty tones of cooper. Two 12m stars of ruby glass was built-in on the top of the 70m high pylon of the monument that symbolizes a waving communist flag. The Soviet star which adorns the tower of Buzludzha was three times larger than that at the Kremlin. Built by the Bulgarian Communist regime in 1981, the 14,186,000 leva (£5.3million) Buzludzha Monument eventually became the headquarters for the Party. After the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, the building fell into a state disrepair and the Bulgarian government has neither the funds to renovate or destroy the structure. It sits atop a 1441 metre peak in the Balkan mountains, surrounded by open space, hilly terrain and miles and miles of nothingness. Now the monument lies abandoned and ruined, its doors closed to the public.

The Guildhall is one of Derry’s most recognisable landmarks and has been at the heart of city life since 1890. It was built in 1887 by ‘The Honourable The Irish Society’ on land reclaimed from the River Foyle at a cost of L19,000 (equivalent to L1.5 million today). It is free to the public and it is not only gorgeous but educational. There is an historic, interactive exhibit that is well worth visiting. The guildhall is a beautiful building inside and out and looks like a church, but has never been one. Derry City Council Meetings are still held in the Guildhall. The area around it was the scene of many bombings during the Northern Ireland Troubles. One IRA bomb in 1972 destroyed the glass artwork.

Burj Dubai is the tallest man-made structure in the world. The Burj Dubai had its name officially changed to Burj Khalifa during its grand opening in honor of the president of the U.A.E. H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan. The tower is situated on a man-made lake which is designed to wrap around the tower and to provide dramatic views of it. The tower’s observation deck will be located 442 metres above ground, the highest publicly accessible observation deck in the world. The total area of cladding used to cover the Burj Dubai will be equivalent to 17 football fields. The Burj Dubai spire will be visible from as far away as 95 kms.

It is one of the world’s most famous buildings. This museum is in many ways an attractive and impressive piece of architecture. The Guggenheim Museum building in Bilbao Spain was completed in 1997. It is situated prominently on the waterfront near the center of Bilbao, The completion of the building guaranteed Frank Gehry, his attendance among the great architects of this century. The Guggenheim offers a series of activities for visitors who wish to broaden their knowledge of art.

The QVB was originally built as the Queen Victoria Market and replaced an existing produce market. The building was designed by city architect George McRae and constructed between 1893 and 1898. This outstanding example of Byzantine architecture occupies an entire city block. Building is 30 metres wide by 190 metres long. The QVB’s soaring central dome boasts translucent stained-glass clad in copper on the outside, and the shopping area takes up several balconied floors linked by grand staircases. QVB is described as one of the most beautiful shopping centre in the world.

This historical building is located at 500 Griswold Street in the Financial District of Downtown Detroit, Michigan. Built in 1928, the building was originally called the Union Trust Building and is a bold example of Art Deco architecture. The decoration on its edifice is so colorful and creative. It is fabulous architecture of ’20s. There is a cute Detroit shop inside as well as two places to get drinks and snacks. you need to make sure to visit it.

The Office Complex was designed by J. Mayer H Architects. The design for the office building is the result of a limited competition by the investor Cogiton in 2006. The facade is mentioned as the answer to the unique context which is situated at the intersection between the Hamburg’s lively downtown and its urban landscape rich in water and mature trees. The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) is a country in East Asia, occupying the northern half of the Korean Peninsula. Its capital and largest city is Pyongyang. The Korean Demilitarized Zone serves as the buffer zone between North Korea and South Korea. The Amnok River and the Tumen River form the border between North Korea and the People\’s Republic of China. A section of the Tumen River in the far northeast is the border with Russia. More than 23 millions inhabitants live in this country. In comparisson, North Korea is slightly smaller than England and around 2000 square kilometers larger than South Korea. The Empire State Building is located at 350 Fifth Avenue (between 33rd and 34th Streets) in New York City. The Empire State Building was built by builders Starrett Bros. & Eken in 1931 and it was completed in one year and 45 days. The building itself cost $24,718,000 to build. The total cost for the Empire State Building was $40,948,900. The height of the building, including the lightning rod, is 1,454 feet (443.18 m). The measurement from the ground to the 102nd floor observatory is 1,224 feet (373.08 m) and from the ground to the 86th floor observatory is 1,050 feet (320.04 m).
