Chinese New Year begins according to the Chinese calendar which consists of both Gregorian and lunar-solar calendar systems. Because the track of the new moon changes from year to year, Chinese New Year can begin anytime between late January and mid-February. The Lunar New Year is the biggest and the most significant celebration in China being observed worldwide by the Chinese. Each year in the Chinese calendar has a corresponding zodiac animal, and today marks the turnover from the Year of the Snake to the Year of the Horse.

The Jaguar XJ has been updated for the 2014 model year. It looks as light as a sports coupe. The engine range carries over unchanged, but each engine is now mated to an eight-speed automatic with an available stop/start system which Jaguar says takes less time to restart the engine than it takes for the driver to move his or her right foot from brake to gas. The 2014 XJ, available later this year from €98,950, features a range of enhanced interior features focussed on the rear cabin of the car resulting in the most accomplished Jaguar luxury saloon, according to the manufacturer.

LeBron James of the Miami Heat was named as Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year for 2012. He is just one of six professional basketball players that won Sportsman including Heat teammate Dwyane Wade (’06), Tim Duncan and David Robinson (’03), Michael Jordan (1991), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1985) and Bill Russell (1968).
