Mu Cang Chai is in Yen Bai province near Lao Cai where is one of the most beautiful terraced rice field in Vietnam. It owns 700 hectares of terraced rice fields, with 70 percent at three communes: La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha, De Su Phinh. For the place being about 1000 meters above sea level, the steep hills make it almost impossible to grow rice fields like those in the delta. Thus local residences grow their own rice on the terraced fields, for the purpose of preventing water from flowing downhill. September and October is suggested as the most ideal time to visit Mu Cang Chai as everywhere, from magnificent mountains or beautiful terraced rice fields are bathed in glistening rays.

Ski Dubai is one of the world’s largest indoor ski slope with 22,500 square meters of ski and snowboard area and toboggan. The facility is highly impressive structure, part of the Mall of the Emirates. For about $50 you can rent skis, boots and ski gear. The slope is tiny, but the sheer fact that one can snow ski in Dubai is reason enough to do it. It has 5 runs that vary in difficulty, height and steepness. The longest run being 400 meters with a fall of over 60 meters.

Once the largest and most important church in Scotland, St Andrew’s Cathedral (1160-1318) now lies in picturesque ruins overlooking the North Sea in St Andrews. In addition to the Norman and Gothic ruins of the medieval cathedral, it includes St Rule’s Tower and a museum with an important Pictish sarcophagus. It was the seat of the Bishops of St Andrews from its foundation in 1158 until it fell into disuse after the Reformation. The ruins indicate the great size of the building at 350 feet (over 100 metres) long.

Kibera is the biggest slum in Kenya only 5 kilometres from the Nairobi city centre and second largest slum in Africa. Kibera houses almost 1 million of people. They occupying just 6% of the land of Nairobi but representing 60% of the city population. The average size of shack is 12ft x 12ft built with mud walls, screened with concrete, a corrugated tin roof, dirt or concrete floor. One side of Kibera parallels the railroad tracks, the other is bordered by stores in corrugated metal, barrels pounded flat.
