Duxford airfield in Cambridgeshire was a Battle of Britain fighter station. During the Second World War it played a prominent role, and In keeping with the site’s history many of Duxford’s original buildings, such as hangars used during the Battle of Britain, are still in use. Now maintained by the Imperial War Museum, it has the finest collection of American aircraft outside the United States. It houses the largest collection of historic aircraft in Europe, ranging from WWI vintage biplanes to Spitfires, Concorde and Gulf War jets. Museum’s large exhibits, including nearly 300 aircraft, military vehicles, artillery and minor naval vessels in seven main exhibition buildings.

The Technik Museum Speyer is a technology museum in Speyer, Germany. The museum has more than 3,000 items that are spread over 25,000m2 indoor museum and 150,000 m2 outdoor museum. Many aircraft’s can be visit inside, including the Antonov AN-22, Boeing 747 and a large number of fighter aircraft and helicopters.

The Museum celebrates the automobile invented by Carl Benz in 1886: it relates its history and tells its stories, bringing both alive by placing them in the context of technology, day-to-day life, social history and popular culture. Over an area covering 16,500 square metres on nine levels, the museum presents 160 vehicles and over 1,500 exhibits, divided into Legend rooms and Collection rooms. The Legend rooms document the history of the Mercedes-Benz brand and are subdivided into themes and epochs. The Collection rooms offer a thematic presentation of the wealth and diversity of vehicles made by the brand.

Located in the vibrant village of Alford, just 45 minutes from Aberdeen, the Grampian Transport Museum boasts an impressive range of transport exhibits, from travelling chariots of the 1800’s, to some of the fastest cars ever made. The Grampian Transport Museum is a living museum of land travel and transport. A visit includes climb aboard vehicle exhibits, extensive use of video and some great temporary exhibitions. The museum was formed after a group of local transport enthusiasts and collectors in the early 1970s sought to develop a local transport museum. In 1978, the group held a public meeting at which, after an offer was made to lease the former goods yard to the north of the former Alford railway station, the Grampian Transport Museum Association was formed. Major exhibits include the world’s oldest Sentinel Steam Waggon from 1914 and a giant Mack Snowplow. Exhibits include historic and classic automobiles, motorcycles, a double-decker bus, bicycles, steam vehicles, an electric tram, toy model vehicles, and transport memorabilia.

The museum is located in the grounds of the former rocket regiment in Rokycany. It is focused on vehicles and combat equipment, outfit and armament of the Czechoslovakian army till 1938, the Anti-Hitler coalition and the German armed forces of the last days of the 2nd world war on the Demarcation line added by the outfit and armament of the Czechoslovakian people’s army.

Located in Christchurch at the former RNZAF Base at Wigram, the Air Force Museum of New Zealand provides a fascinating insight into the history of the RNZAF from its formation to the present day. The Arabia Steamboat Museum is a unique time capsule of life on the American frontier in the mid-nineteenth century. The museum traces the history of the steamboat in both the 1800s and its salvage effort in 1988. It holds one of the best displays of pre-Civil War era artifacts in the Midwest. It’s collection consists of hundreds of thousands of items intended for daily life on the frontier including more than 4,000 pairs of boots and shoes, 247 hats, 235 ax heads, 29 jars of pickles, 328 pocket knives, and one children\’s doll. The Steamboat Arabia was built in Pennsylvania in 1853 and spent three years shuttling passengers and cargo through the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, back when rivers were the super-highways of the nation. On August 30, 1856, the steamboat was traveling up the Missouri River when it hit a walnut tree below the water’s surface, river rushed into the hull of the boat, and it sank in a matter of minutes. All 130 passengers survived, but an estimated 220 tons of cargo went down with it. Shortly thereafter, the river changed course, and the Arabia was buried underground. The cargo, destined for 16 towns on the frontier, was buried under a cornfield in Wyandotte County, Kansas for 152 years until it was discovered by River Salvage Inc.[9] In 1988, a group of self-proclaimed treasure hunters located it and began excavations.

The New York Transit Museum operates a gallery annex in Grand Central Terminal that presents changing exhibitions. It is a special museum that is below the ground. On the platform level, there are lots of old subways to explore. The museum’s open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p..m.

The Auto & Technik Museum Sinsheim is a technology museum opened in 1981 in Sinsheim, Germany. It is situated directly along the Autobahn A6 (exit 33 Sinsheim or exit 34 Sinsheim-Steinsfurt) between the cities of Mannheim and Heilbronn. Museum is packed with a giant collection of cars, aircraft and military hardware. The USSR is well represented with the Tupolev Tu-144 also known as the Soviet Concorde as absolute highlight of the exhibition. The only Tu-144 on display outside Russia is placed on the roof of the museum building together with the Concorde and is open to walk in for visitors.

The Bundeswehr Military History Museum in Dresden is one of Europe\’s most important history museums. The redesigned Dresden Museum of Military History is now the official central museum of the German Armed Forces. It will house an exhibition area of roughly 21,000 square feet, making it Germany’s largest museum. It is located in a former military arsenal in the Albertstadt neighborhood of Dresden. The museum includes the original Brandtaucher, the first German submarine, built in Kiel in 1850.
