Fontainebleau is the only royal and imperial château With over 1500 rooms at the heart of 130 acres of parkland and gardens, It is located 55 kilometres from the centre of Paris. The château houses a superb collection of paintings, stucco motives, carved wood and furniture. Many visitors come here for horseback riding and hiking, and it’s a perfect spot for an afternoon picnic. if you have a Paris Museum Pass, you can get into the monument for free. A visit to the Large Apartments is €6.50 for adults. This includes the Renaissance Rooms, the Sovereign’s State Apartments, and Napoléon’s Imperial Apartment.
