The Grand Départ of the world’s best known cycle race, the Tour de France, took place in 2017 in the North Rhine-Westphalian capital of Düsseldorf. Over three weeks, riders will tackle 21 stages, with 53 leg-burning climbs, covering 3,540 kilometres across Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and France. There are 198 riders in 22 teams this year.

The magical colours of the seasonal street decorations create a dazzling sight for visitors from all over the world. One of the biggest events in the 2014 automotive calendar took place in Paris. Land Rover revealed new Discovery Sport premium midsized SUV to the press. The SUV is the first member of what Land Rover describes as the Discovery Family, sort of like the Jetsons or Bunkers but consisting of sport utility vehicles. Jaguar has launched the new XE at the Paris Motor Show. The new Jaguar XE is powered by a range of four and six-cylinder all-aluminium petrol and diesel engines, Prices still start at £27,000 and deliveries will start in May 2015.

The Bibliothèque-Musée de l’Opéra National de Paris is a library and museum of the Paris Opera and is located in the 9th arrondissement at 8 rue Scribe, Paris, France. Fontainebleau is the only royal and imperial château With over 1500 rooms at the heart of 130 acres of parkland and gardens, It is located 55 kilometres from the centre of Paris. The château houses a superb collection of paintings, stucco motives, carved wood and furniture. Many visitors come here for horseback riding and hiking, and it’s a perfect spot for an afternoon picnic. if you have a Paris Museum Pass, you can get into the monument for free. A visit to the Large Apartments is €6.50 for adults. This includes the Renaissance Rooms, the Sovereign’s State Apartments, and Napoléon’s Imperial Apartment.

The town of Versailles sits about 20 kilometers outside of Paris. Louis XIII’s former hunting lodge was transformed and extended at his son’s request, to house the seat of the royal court and the French government. The project presented the absolute power of the French monarchy, which was then at the height of its glory. The palace is surrounded by equally grand gardens overflowing with flowers, neatly trimmed hedges, statuary and fountains. At 100 hectare, the garden of the Versailles Palace is Europe\’s largest palace garden. It was created in the 17th century by landscape gardener André Le Nôtre. The Chateau de Versailles is generally open Tuesdays through Sundays.

In the centre of Paris on the banks of the Seine, opposite the Tuileries Gardens, the museum was installed in the former Orsay railway station, built for the Universal Exhibition of 1900. The museum holds mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1915, including paintings, sculptures, furniture, and photography. The fourth generation belong to Range Rover line with its bold and latest car technology. It made its global public debut at the Paris International Motor Show. The new Range Rover will be produced in a state-of-the-art new low-energy manufacturing facility at Solihull, UK. Customers have a choice of a petrol 510PS LR-V8 Supercharged and two diesel (3.0-litre 258PS TDV6 and 4.4-litre 339PS SDV8) engines. It is 420kg lighter than the car it replaces, despite measuring 27mm longer than the current car. The luxurious interior has a modern and pure character, incorporating distinctive Range Rover design cues.

A compact sized hatchback that will compete against among other cars in the segment like the Volkswagen Golf or Ford Focus. The new Auris is based on a modified version of the previous model. Hybrid version will use a more efficient version of 1.8-litre petrol engine and electric motor setup with a nickel-metal hydride battery. The Auris being offered in Europe will come equipped with a 1.33 and 1.6-liter petrol engine, as well as a 1.4-liter turbo diesel.

The Catacombs of Paris have been created at the end of the 18th century. In the 1800’s in Paris the cemeteries were overflowing with dead bodies and had become the origin of infection for all the inhabitants. After multiple complaints, the Council of State, by decision of November 9, 1785, pronounced the removal. Beneath the streets were old stone quarries where they had mined stone to build the houses of Paris. So they decided to dig up the overflowing cemeteries and take the bones down into the caverns under the streets and create ossuaries of the the thousands of bones.

The Eiffel Tower is one of the tallest structure in the world. The tower rises 300 meters tall (984 ft). The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789. It remained the tallest in the world for 41 years until 1930, when the Chrysler Building was built in New York. There were about 1710 steps in the Eiffel Tower during 1889, after it was constructed. Today, there are about 1665 steps in the monument.
