The Eiffel Tower is one of the tallest structure in the world. The tower rises 300 meters tall (984 ft). The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789. It remained the tallest in the world for 41 years until 1930, when the Chrysler Building was built in New York. There were about 1710 steps in the Eiffel Tower during 1889, after it was constructed. Today, there are about 1665 steps in the monument.
