Coimbra is one of Portugal’s oldest cities and is home to one of the world’s first universities. It was the capital of the country from 1139 to 1256 and its university was founded in 1290. Situated on a hill overlooking the city, the University of Coimbra with its colleges grew and evolved over more than seven centuries within the old town. The city and the surrounding region offer exceptional conditions for countless leisure activities, which range from the practice of several sports to numerous suggestions at cultural and artistic levels and to events in unique historical sceneries, just to mention some possibilities among many others.

Acceleration 2014 includes car and motorcycle races at a high European level, the Nations Cup, tractor pulling, world’s best DJs, kids activities … It is organised by the International Sport Racing Association (ISRA), based in the Netherlands, and will be held 10 times in 2014, starting 25–27 April in Portimao, Portugal and ending 17–19 October in Assen, Netherlands.

Porto Moniz is located about 46 km from Funchal on the northwest tip of Madeira. The name Porto Moniz was a tribute to Francisco Moniz, who married a granddaughter of Gonçalves Zarco, to whom the place was donated. It is famous for its natural rock bathing pools that are filled by the tide with crystal clear water.
