During National Police Week, the U.S. recognizes the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement and pays tribute to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Police Week includes the annual candlelight vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Judiciary Square in Northwest DC, as well as National Peace Officers Memorial Day services at the US Capitol.

One of the famous symbol that represent Canada and Canadians is most commonly associated with The Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The RCMP holds a special place of honor in history of Canada. We could see actors that play their roles as member of RCMP in many films and TV series. Most famous is Constable Benton Fraser in TV series Due South. Typical uniform consists of Hat Band, Felt Hat(Stetson), Hat Strap, Shoulder Badge, Collar Badge, Scarlet Tunic, Lanyard, Service Badge(s), Cross-strap and Belt, Brown Pistol Holster, Double Magazine Holder, Handcuff Pouch, Qualifying Badge, Brown Gloves, Breaches, Strathcona Boots, Spurs and Spur Tabs. It is used only for special occasion, it is very unusual to find a mountie in traditional costume, even in Canada.

Police all over the world are know as “Peace Maker” by this, it means is the responsibility of the Police to ensure Protection of Citizens, Prevention and Detection of crimes, enforcement of laws and order, checkmate disorderly behaviour which may led to breach of the peace of the Public. Police are expected to uphold high moral standard, integrity and dignity in the discharge of their lawful duties.
