Street racing is almost always illegal, but in the Silver State, there is one exception. One May weekend each year is dedicated to the Nevada Open Road Challenge. Timed speed challenge on closed desert highway is world’s fastest road race. Talented drivers ride fast cars on Nevada Highway 318 for 90 miles.

The Consumer Electronics Show (aka CES) is one of the largest technology trade shows in the world. Taking place every January in Las Vegas, Nevada, CES is chock-full of interesting gadgets, toys, drones, and much more. It is the event to follow for all the latest news and announcements from the tech world. Hundreds of major and emerging brands presented on the show floor, and visitors had the opportunity to be among the first to test their latest products.

The view of Las Vegas has changed with the world’s largest, tallest observation wheel, the High Roller at the LINQ. It is a 550-foot tall and 520-foot diameter giant Ferris wheel on the Las Vegas Strip.It was opened to the public on March 31, 2014, and is the world’s tallest Ferris wheel. It holds 40 passengers in each of 28 pods. The price of a High Roller ride is just too expensive. A basic daytime ticket originally ( 30-minute ride, the time taken for the entire wheel to rotate once) cost $24.95, and a ride after 6 p.m. runs $10 more. Kids 12y and under are free with a paying adult.

Burning Man is an annual festival in temporary community dedicated to radical self-expression. This event held in the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada. Tens of thousands of people create temporary metropolis dedicated to art and they depart one week later, having left no trace whatsoever. Festival begins on the last Monday in August, and ends on the first Monday in September.
