The Yaeyama Islands are an archipelago in the southwest of Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, and cover 591.46 square kilometres and consists of 10 inhabited islands and several islets. They are home to numerous species of subtropical plants and mangrove forests. The islands produce sugarcane and pineapples. Coral reefs around the islands are ideal habitats for dolphins, sea turtles, and larger fish such as manta rays and whale sharks. Ishigaki is the most populated and most developed island of the Yaeyama archipelago and serves as the region’s main transportation hub.

267 pilot whales are driven up on the beach near Fuglefjord. The whales, that local residents see as a gift from God, are afterwards distributed free to citizens on the island Whaling in the Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic has been practiced since about the time of the first Norse settlements on the islands. The techniques used are intensely stressful and cruel. Entire family groups are rounded up out at sea by small motor boats and driven to the shore. Typically, once they are stranded in shallow water, blunt-ended metal hooks are inserted into their blowholes and used to drag the whales up the beach, where they are killed with a knife cut to their major blood vessels.

The 1,200 year old Minden offered a unique setting for exciting new productions of the past. Entertaining, informative and authentic history of different epochs were performed by international reenactment groups! It covered re-enactment of daily life in Mediaeval times against the backdrop of the 1200 year old Minden cathedral, a military church hospital at the time of the Battle of Minden along with historical impressions from Japan, masquerade and theatre with the Spanish historical performance group “La Tal” and etc.

The Cayman Islands is the one of the best destination in the Caribbean for its white beaches, perfect weather and world class diving. Three islands make up the British Overseas Territory of the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands would be a great place to live or for vacantion. Grand Cayman, the largest of the three, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman offer charming scenery and steamy nightlife. Columbus discovered Little Cayman and Cayman Brac during his fourth and last voyage to the New World, on May 10, 1503. One part of Cayman history includes legends of Cayman\’s occupation by pirates during the 18th century including treasure caches left behind by Blackbeard, Neal Walker and Henry Morgan.
