Citroen sees the DS5 as a competitor to D-segment models such as the Volkswagen Passat and Opel Insignia, and premium executive models including the Volkswagen CC and Audi A4. The DS5 engine range comprises of a 110hp 1.6-litre eHDI engine, a 160hp 2.0-litre HDI unit, a 200hp turbocharged petrol and the range topping diesel-electric hybrid powertrain that is identical to the one used in the recently launched Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4.
