American Parakeets are small parrots that have long, flat tails. They can be a variety of colors ranging from yellow to blue, violet to green. Parakeets are are extremely social birds and they must be kept in pairs to avoid harmful behavior problems like biting, screaming, and feather plucking which are all signs that something is missing in their environment. Basic care consits of changing the food and water daily and cleaning the bottom of the cage.
