She began performing in clubs around the city under various aliases. She released the single Kill Kill under her alias Lizzy Grant, in 2009 before remaking herself into Lana Del Rey in 2011. Del Rey’s music has been noted forits cinematic sound and its references to various aspects of pop culture, particularly that of 1950s and ’60s Americana.
