Rolex is world-famous for its performance and reliability. Founded by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis in London, England in 1905 as Wilsdorf and Davis. It moved its base of operations to Geneva, Switzerland in 1919.
Rolex have always been a manufacturer of firsts:
- first wristwatch to receive Chronometer certification
- first with automatically changing date
- first with an oscillating winding rotor as is still used today
- first waterproof wristwatch too.
