Graceland is dedicated to preserving the majestic memory of the worlds greatest legend, Elvis Presley. It is a mansion on a 13.8-acre estate in Memphis. It is located at 3764 Elvis Presley Boulevard in the vast Whitehaven community about 9 miles from Downtown and less than four miles north of the Mississippi border. It currently serves as a museum. It was opened to the public on June 7, 1982. It is the second most visited home in the United States. Graceland was home to Elvis Presley during the height of his career. The iconic rock and roll singer, called “The King of Rock and Roll,” died in the white-columned mansion in 1977 at the age of 42. The King is buried in the Meditation Gardens on the estate.
