Horseshoe Bend is in one of most breath taking, beautiful, amazing places in the world. It is the name for a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona, The Horseshoe Bend is part of the Glen Canyon which is near the Arizona/Utah state line. The place is easy to reach with a short hike which begins from a large parking area just off U.S. 89. This attraction is completely free but sitting on the ledges is really dangerous.

The name Porto Moniz was a tribute to Francisco Moniz, who married a granddaughter of Gonçalves Zarco, to whom the place was donated. It is impossible to confuse with any other species, the ring-tailed lemur has a distinctive long and bushy black-and-white-ringed tail. The Ring-tailed Lemur is found in the dry forests and bush of southern and south-western Madagascar. It is one of twenty-two species of lemurs. Lemurs are best known for their large, round reflective eyes and their wailing screams. Lemurs also have furry, pointed ears and long tails.

Architect Guojón Samúelsson patterned its facade after the basaltic lava columns that are common in Iceland. It is the tallest and largest church in Iceland and is Reykjavík’s most photographed emblem by far, visible from everywhere in the capital. Its magnificent 74.5 metres (244 ft) high steeple rising above all other buildings in Reykjavik. It took 38 years to build the church. Construction work began in 1945 and ended in 1986, the landmark tower being completed long before the church’s actual completion. The crypt beneath the choir was consecrated in 1948, the steeple and wings were completed in 1974. The nave was consecrated in 1986.

Owls are symbols of wisdom for some cultures, for the others they are harbingers of doom and death. Owls are the silent hunters of the night. They are active only at night. Large eyes collect all available light, even if it is only the light of the moon. Their sensitive ears can hear the tiniest scampering sound of prey and soft wings make them silent stalkers. Wong Tai Sin Temple is one of the most famous shrines in Hong Kong. It is dedicated to Wong Tai Sin, or the Great Immortal Wong. For 100 million Hong Kong dollars (US$13 million), the 90-year-old temple created a underground prayer room. It is decked with gold and marble and equipped with LED lights and motion detectors. Sik Sik Yuen, the Taoist organization that runs the temple charges each visitor a HK$100 entrance fee, considered a high price for a place of worship. Another HK$300 is needed if you want to make a wish to a deity in the Taoist traditional manner.

A lighthouse is a building or other type of construction designed to emit light from a system of lamps and lenses or, in older times, from a fire and used as an aid to navigation. The most widely used materials are masonry, brick, concrete and steel. The first known lighthouse, the Pharos of Alexandria, Egypt, was completed about 280 B.C. It stood more than 350 feet tall until an earthquake destroyed it in the 1300s.
