Kyoto Tower is located opposite Kyoto Station, Japan. The 800-ton steel tower is the tallest structure in Kyoto with its observation deck at 100 meters (328 ft) and its spire at 131 meters (430 ft). The tower stands atop a 3-star hotel, bathhouse, several stores, a souvenir shop and cafes. Visitors enjoy view of the city from the top of the tower. It offers a 360 degrees panoramic view of Kyoto. There are several telescopes available free of charge on the observation deck.

Himeji Castle, also called Shirasagijo alias White Heron Castle due to its white outer walls, is most impressive and complet castle in Japan. Himeji Castle was never destroyed in wars, earthquakes or fires and survives in its original form. Himeji Castle includes 83 structures that are recognised as National Treasures. The Himeji Castle is constructed 45.6 meters high on the top of sea level, and on the hill known as Himeyama. Himeji Castle dates to 1333, when Akamatsu Norimura built a fort on top of the hill.
