Emirates Air Line is a gondola lift cable car link across the River Thames in London. From North Greenwich to the Royal Docks, opened on the 28 June 2012. One way ticket costs £3.60 on an Oyster card or £16 for 10 journeys. The Thames cable car operates from 7am-9pm Monday to Friday, 8am-9pm Saturday and 9am-9pm Sunday. Drive takes five minutes. The cable cars rise almost 300 feet. The cable car has the capacity to carry up to 2,500 people an hour in each direction, in one of 34 cabins. Passengers get a view of City, Canary Wharf, historic Greenwich, the Thames Barrier and the Olympic Park.

The 2011 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 was an Australian touring car motor race for V8 Supercars. The race was at the Mount Panorama Circuit just outside Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. It is a 1000 kilometre (620 miles) race. The race was traditionally run on the first Sunday in October but is now held on the second Sunday. The race traces its lineage to the 1960 Armstrong 500.

Carhenge is a very odd structure located in the sand hills of western Nebraska. It is a beautifully done replica of Stonehenge, Americanized by using cars that have been spray-painted grey to give off the impression they are made of stone. It attracts 100,000 visitors each year. The original sculpture was created in June, 1987 as a memorial to Jim Reinders’ father who once lived on the farm where Carhenge stands.

The starting price of the vehicle is $ 7,800,000. Under the bonnet beats V12 bi-turbo from Maybach 57 S 690-hp with a peak torque of 737 ft-lb. 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 218mph. The Exelero also starred in the movie CLICK, the Cobra 11 series and in several commercials and music videos.

The Karma use a plug-in hybrid technology – called Q DRIVE – developed by Quantum Technologies, which will serve as a basis for all future models from Fisker. The main idea of the Q DRIVE system is that a small gasoline engine turns the car generator, which charges the lithium ion batteries, powering the electric motor and driving the rear wheels.

Nobody expected this. There was no advance notice. There were no empty promises. There is no turning back: the future of motorsports began for Porsche in 2010. After several races we could well say: mission accomplished, theory substantiated. But that’s not enough for us. Our most important finding: Sports car can do more. Porsche is continuing to extend its performance and high efficiency competence via intensive development work in the field of technology. With the Porsche 918 spyder, the manufacturer of sporty premium vehicles is presenting a high-end synthesis of 2010\’s successful concepts. The two-seater mid-engine coupé 918 is transferred to a modern, innovative super sports car. The 3.4 litre V8 engine (500 hp/370 kW) is a development of the engine used in the RS Spyder Le Mans Prototype racing car. This is supplemented by three electric motors delivering an additional 218 horsepower (163 kW). The transmission is a 7-speed gearbox coupled to Porsche\’s own (PDK) double clutch system delivering power to the rear axle. This gives the 918 Spyder a 0–100 km/h time in just under 3.2 seconds and a top speed of over 320 kilometres per hour (200 mph). The energy storage system is a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery positioned behind the passenger cell. In addition to the plug-in recharge the batteries can also be charged by regenerative braking and by excess output from the engine when the car is coasting. CO2 emissions are 70 g/km and fuel consumption is 3 L/100 km (94 imperial mpg/78 us mpg).

The Eliica is a battery electric vehicle concept car first shown in 2004 and designed by a team at Keio University in Tokyo, led by Professor Hiroshi Shimizu. The 17 ft (5.1 m) car runs on a lithium-ion battery and can accelerate from 62 mph (0–100 km/h) in 4 seconds. In 2004, the Eliica reached a speed of 230 mph (370 km/h) on high speed track. The Eliica weighs in at 5,300 lb (2,400 kg) and seats the driver and three passengers. The projected price was about $255,000 USD.

The government has launched state grants aimed at encouraging motorists to buy environmentally-friendly electric cars. Transport Secretary said nine different electric car models would be eligible for a grant of up to 5,000 pounds ( 7,930 dollars).
